Backline

We negotiate artist fees assuming there is no backline. Please tell us when contracting if you have backline needs, since it affects the fee we can pay. Backline generally has to come from out of the area.

Parking and unloading

Park in front of the theatre on Main Street (old Hwy 49), or unload at the back of the theatre in Boston Alley, which runs parallel behind Main Street. Boston Alley is for unloading only; we'll point you to residential parking a block or so away.

Load-in and sound check

  • Saturday shows: load in about 3:00, sound check 4:00, dinner 5:00, doors 6:30, show 7:00.
  • Friday shows: load in 4:00, sound check 5:00, dinner 6:00, doors 7:30, show 8:00.
  • Sunday shows: usually late afternoon with doors at 3 or 4 pm. Contact us for load-in times.

We build in time for flexibility and can usually move times earlier if needed. The stage is about 15 feet deep by 30 feet wide, with a backstage area about 10 feet deep behind the curtain (home to our Steinway grand piano) and a green room behind that. From Boston Alley, come in through the marked stage door via the green room, or through the fire exit.

Meals, guests, merchandise and lodging

  • Meals: we usually provide the band with a pizza meal.
  • Guest lists: we're small, so please keep them small and contact us in advance.
  • Merchandise: we have a lobby table for CDs, t-shirts and more. Let us know if you need us to sell merch.
  • Lodging: a 3-bedroom apartment above the theatre sleeps 6 (two queen rooms and one room with two twins).

Sound and tech

Byron usually runs sound, but let us know if you're bringing your own engineer or equipment. It's a small, very live room, so we often don't mic drums and have done acoustic shows completely unamplified. It's sound reinforcement more than volume. On-stage amps should be small or run well at low volume, and we prefer to mic them or take a line out into the house mix. Please send a stage plot or input list and any equipment needs.

  • Mixing: Allen & Heath Qu-32 digital board with a digital stage box; we usually run 24 or fewer inputs.
  • Monitors: 7 discrete monitor mixes, 10 JBL powered monitors.
  • House: QSC powered tops and QSC powered subs.
  • Mics: 6 Shure SM58s, 5 Shure SM57s, a kick drum mic and a Shure condenser, plus passive and active DIs.
  • Video: projector and 16-foot screen.

Media and promotion

We usually pull bios, photos and promo material from your website. We especially need good color photos (300 dpi minimum) and a short tag line describing the act. We'll send you our list of local media; it helps when artists contact them too, and there may be radio or print interview opportunities. Send links to any official videos you'd like us to post, and mail at least one copy of your latest CD to our P.O. Box. Let us know if you have posters.

Please list the show on your own website and calendars and tell your email list. We contact local media, email our list, put up posters and flyers, list the show on our website and event calendars, and stay very active on Facebook.
